The wait is finally over. We now know that the host of “The X Factor USA” will be the Welsh presenter, Steve Jones. And we can also tell you that the show will see former “American Idol” judges Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul reunited on the judging panel.
TV chiefs apparently agreed with “X Factor” creator Simon Cowell that there is room for more than one Brit on the how. Cheryl Cole has already been confirmed for the judging panel, along with L.A. Reid and Simon himself. Now we bring you the latest news, that Welsh hunk Steve Jones is to front the show with the former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.
His appointment is a major career development for Jones. Apparently he “leapt at the opportunity” to take the top job of presenting “The X Factor.”
Fellow DJ Edith Bowman broke the news of Steve’s new job on Twitter.
“The Brits invade. Steve Jones is gonna host the American X Factor I hear. Well bloody done you Mr Jones. And a Pussycat Doll to co-host possibly?”
Paula Abdul’s career has also been given a much needed shot in the arm, if recent reports over the weekend are correct. It has been reported that she has also signed contracts locking her in for “The X Factor USA” judging panel. That must be welcome news for her after being told that her own show “Live to Dance” would not be getting a second season due to poor ratings.
So now we know that Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger will present the show. We also know that the judging panel will be comprised of: Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Cheryl Cole will be three of the judges. Apparently last-minute negotiations with Paula Abdul and her management are delaying the formal announcement of the full “X Factor USA” line-up. But after the shock cancellation of her show, Ms. Abdul’s diary may be a little too empty to warrant turning down this top TV gig, I feel. It is strongly rumored that she signed on the dotted line this past Saturday evening.
