The X Factor USA has confirmed that the Top 7 will tackle tracks by Michael Jackson on this week’s live performance show which airs tonight.
Melanie Amaro, Rachel Crow, Drew, Marcus Canty, Astro, Chris Rene and Josh Krajcik will each perform one of the King of Pop’s biggest hits on tonight’s show (November 30). It is good timing, to capitalize on the publicity surrounding the sentencing of Conrad Murray for Michael Jackson’s involuntary manslaughter which took place in court yesterday.
The X Factor competitors will then face a second double elimination on tomorrow night’s (December 1) results show. So just five acts will continue on to the following week. The competition is really heating up and the pressure is being piled on.
Last week there was also double elimination which saw us wave goodbye to LeRoy Bell and Lakoda Rayne after their Thanksgiving week performances which paid tribute to people who had a good effect on their lives.
That exit of Lakoda Rayne took the last remaining group out of the competition and with it went judge Paula Abdul’s chances of being the winning mentor in the inaugural season of The X Factor USA.
In other X Factor news, contestant Rachel Crow has confirmed that she knows Disney are interested in working with her and that she thinks the offer is “cool.” Rachel (13), with her great voice and seriously cute personality, has to be one of the favorites to win the X Factor title, but it seems that even if she doesn’t, with Disney looking at her, we should see a lot more of that young lady in the future. Hurray!
The X Factor continues tonight (November 30) at 8/7c on Fox. Are you excited for Michael Jackson night? What songs would you choose for the remaining X Factor contestants?
