X Factor US Top 9 Performances

It’s a night early for X Factor. Who is going to bring it for the performance this time? Lakoda Rayne held on by the skin of their teeth and didn’t get put in the bottom two last week. But Astro and Stacy did. Stacy was voted off, even though Astro threw a fit and almost didn‘t perform. And the news of Astro’s tantrum has been talked about all week. Will he be in the bottom two this week? And TWO people have to go home this week on their thanks to a friend or family member.

The lowest vote getter automatically goes home, then the next two have to sing it out like usual. The judges will send the second person home on Wednesday night.

Rachel is a crowd favorite for her youth and her enthusiasm. Can she maintain her composure and sing great to stay in? She gets on stage and wows everyone. The crowd behind her is a bit much, but the judges don’t comment on it if they noticed. Paula called her an angel, Nicole says she is inspirational and there is lots of love going around. Great job by such a young performer.

Marcus is performing for his mother. He sings Mama, but it doesn’t make the crowd react quite like they did earlier. Sure, it’s nice, but does he connect passionately with the crowd, the judges and the song? Nicole is in tears again and Paula says it was his best yet. Do those two ever sway and say something different? LA goes as far to say he sings better than Babyface. Wow.

Melanie sings her heart out and gets emotional on stage when it is over. She is so emotional and of course Nicole is, so she goes up and gives her a hug on stage. LA only says it was very good and Simon can only get out how proud he is of her. No long winded speeches her or is it because they are already calling her the winner?

Chris, who has now been sober for seven months, is singing for his counselor who is helping to keep him on the straight and narrow in order to be on the show. Nicole thinks he was great, Paula thinks he was amazing and then there is Simon. Simon didn’t necessarily like the performance, but he thought Chris was a great role model for others.

Lakoda Rayne sings Taylor Swift and do an OK job with it, but not on exactly. They sound better alone but in this song, they mostly sing together. LA seems unimpressed, but Nicole thought it was as good as a concert. Really? Simon criticized their singing and missed notes, as if he was waving them off. Again. And Paula is still crying. She loves them, of course.

LeRoy is up and sings a song for his mother. She supported his career decision from when he was a teen. Another slow song for LeRoy…last week Drew got criticized for being in the same genre all the time, why isn’t he? He can sing, but is he worth $5 million? LA nailed him on it but Paula said he was wrong and that was LeRoy’s most passionate performance.

Astro gets up and does a nice performance. He admits what he did last week was wrong, but then, he’s only what 12? Oh, 15. He probably does not know how to express himself. Simon admits he likes him, even though not necessarily the song this week. LA praises him again. Will it be enough groveling to keep him in?

Drew gets on stage…will she finally vary from her style? Or will it be the same folksy style she does to a song? Yup, folksy. LA nailed her last week and does it again, wondering why she doesn’t sing the right material for her age. Nicole loved it, like always and Paula said it was a fine choice for her to sing. Simon jumps in to defend Drew to LA, and Mr. Host has to get between them. Didn’t he do it last week too?

Josh is the last performer of the night. He is singing for his daughter, who he had at a very young age. He saw his daughter playing a piano and discovered a piece of himself in her. He made a decision to go after his dream and change himself. He plays the piano and sings an emotional song that the audience loves. All the judges stand up for him. Wow. LA says he has the right amount of everything to win this competition. Of course Paula loved him! Simon said that is what it is all about and complimented Nicole. Nicole was in tears she loved the performance so much.

So, will the bottom vote getter be Chris, who was only so-so and redid his own song? Will it be Lakoda Rayne who just can’t impress? I think one of those two will automatically go and then the other will be the judge vote off.

But who will be the second on the bottom two? Probably Drew, or maybe even Astro. What’s your votes?

Can Drew ever sing *anything* without inserting voice breaks every third note?

Were you watching the same show I was. Man, talk about twisting the truth for your own devices. You’ve probably been a Lakoda Rayne hater fromt he get go. Go back and look at what the judges said about Lakoda Rayne. I believe Simon said it was their best performance. L.A. said he “wanted to dislike it” but he said he didn’t. I’m sick of you so called journalists with your agendas. Shame on you. Wait a minute, your name is Tina. I get it now. They are beautiful, and you’re not.
