X Factor US Top 5 Announced!

X Factor opens up with another tribute to Michael Jackson. The group sings Man in the Mirror and the focus is on their vocals. The song highlights most everybody, but shows that Drew is lacking in range and changing up her style a bit. She could definitely be in trouble tonight. Who do you think will be gone first?

There’s a review of all the performances and judge’s comments. Now, it is time for the bottom two vote earners to face the music. One goes home right away and the other will make it through to next week.

It is going on to eliminations with a twist. The five moving on are notified first.

First act voted through is Chris! Simon said he was going to need votes and he must have gotten it. The next act performing next week will be Melanie. The third act continuing on to the finals is Rachel.

And now we have four acts left but are going to commercial. How are they going to work this? The lowest vote getter is going home automatically and two more need to sing for survival…so when are they notifying the bottom vote getter? Why didn’t they do that first?

Now we get back and the four are left waiting some more as we listen to a performance from Tinie Tempah. Who?
Anyway, of Josh, Astro, Drew and Marcus, who will immediately be going home? Who is safe? I think Drew and Astro are done. Or Drew and Marcus, but I don’t know who will leave and who will have to fight. I think Josh will be the last one completely safe and the other three duke it out.

The last act safe is – Josh! I knew it!

One of the last three is leaving immediately – Drew, Astro or Marcus. Who? Astro!

Drew and Marcus will have to battle it out.

Drew comes out first and sings Tell it to Your Heart. It’s her style, but she does a better job of it than she did last night. And that was awkward…Drew finishes and Steve Jones – the host – stands between her and the camera for a few seconds and talks to her.

And then Marcus comes on stage and stops the music to say he just wants to sing his heart out. OK. He picks a jazzy song back to his original style. Hmmm. Both sounded pretty good, but not sure who killed it like Paula wanted.

Drew is trying not to cry on stage. Marcus looks smug.

LA gets to vote first. He says Drew did a great job and he liked her save song. He tells Marcus that it isn’t a gimme vote. He ends up sending Drew home.

Simon gets to vote next and says Drew is only up for the vote because of him and what he chose for her to do. He sends Marcus home.

Nicole looks like she is going to cry, but she tells Drew she loves her. She then tells Marcus he has a lot of heart and soul. Nicole is sending home Drew.

Paula tells both of them they are great and deserve recording contracts. She is sending Drew home because she didn’t feel like she was moved.

Drew is sobbing but thanks her fans. Simon is pissed and doesn’t talk when Steve asks for a comment. Melanie and Rachel come out and hug her and sob too.

After a commercial, Simon does comment and says Drew didn’t deserve to be voted off. When asked about a comment to the other judges, Simon says no. He’s clearly ticked off! Should be lots of fun backstage!

i hate the way nicole acts as a judge, with the MF family there yesterday, all she could mention was the chair and not about Drew’s obvious talent. i feel like nicole and paula voted Drew off to spite Simon. no wonder he’s pissed off.
