William and Kate’s $720, 000 Seychelles Honeymoon: New Details

Newlywed royals William and Kate are currently on a luxury ten-day honeymoon on North Island, in the Seychelles. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime getaway on a former British colony, one of over 100 Seychelle islands in the Indian Ocean. The luxury hideaway has also been the vacation choice of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and David and Victoria Beckham.

The honeymoon is said to be costing $720,000, as the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge rented out eleven villas at North Island Lodge. The lodges come with a private butler (although when they return to married life in Wales they will reportedly have no household staff.) There is also an open-air bath filled with frangipani flowers; golf carts and mountain bikes on which to tour the beautiful island.

We now know that William and Kate (we really should get used to calling her Catherine!) also hired a $3.2 million yacht to take a Treasure Island’s tour. The royal honeymoon couple spent a day cruising between former pirate hideouts Praslin and La Digue, with tropical swamps and spectacular wildlife.

The boat they hired is called the Sea Stream. The 2006 Ferretti motor yacht costs $42,000 to hire it for a week. It has a top speed of almost 40mph, making it the fastest luxury crewed boat for rent in the Seychelles, and it comes equipped with its own jet skis and scuba-diving gear.

While on the yacht, William and Kate ate sushi, Parma ham and other delicacies.
