Last night was the third results show of Dancing With The Stars 2012. In the performance show, the nine remaining couples hit the dance floor for Latin Night. For one couple, though, it was their last dance.
Each of the nine couples performed a Salsa, Samba or Argentine Tango. Carlos Santana also performed.
Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas and William Levy and Cheryl Burke tied for the top spot on the leaderboard on last night’s show with a very impressive 29 out of 30 points. They both danced the Argentine Tango.
Gavin DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff were at the bottom of the leader board. They scored just 19 out of 30 for their samba.
For once, the couple at the bottom of the leader board was who was eliminated when all the public votes were cast.
But not before the judges asked Derek and Maria to do an encore of their salsa from last night. This time, instead of kissing Maria, Derek jumped up on the judges’ table and kissed Carrie-Ann.
The following couples were quickly announced as safe:
Maria Menounos & Derek Hough
Melissa Gilbert & Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Gladys Knight & Tristan MacManus
William Levy & Cheryl Burke
Katherine Jenkins & Mark Ballas
Donald Driver & Peta Murgatroyd
Roshon Fegan & Chelsie Hightower
That left the following couples in jeopardy:
Jaleel White & Kym Johnson
Gavin DeGraw & Karina Smirnoff
Then we got to our first dance duel! The couples had to face a dance-off to fight for their place in the competition.
Carrie Ann thought they both did a good job. She thought Gavin was good in hold and Jaleel was great. Len was also impressed, feeling that Gavin always gives 100% and Jaleel had great rhythm. Bruno thought Jaleel was great, great hip movement and timing.
All three judges saved Jaleel White and Kym Johnson after the dance off, which mean that Gavin DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff were eliminated.
