What Bachelor Ben Flajnik Thought Of Mock Wedding To Courtney Robertson

The Bachelor’s Ben Flajnik said his mock wedding to Courtney Robertson on the hometown dates was a good thing. It let her show him exactly what she felt for him, he said.

Like she hasn’t been doing that all season?

Courtney surprised Ben with a pretend wedding ceremony on last night’s episode of the show during his hometown visit to meet her family in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Courtney took Ben for a picnic at a local area known for holding weddings. She then encouraged him to write his own vows, while she used the opportunity to express her feelings for him through her own vows.

Courtney even had wedding rings and a bow tie for Ben. She had arranged for an officiator to preside over the ceremony. But it was all fake.

Now, I think all this makes Courtney a bit of a bunny boiler, but Ben wrote in his weekly blog for People magazine that:

“My date with her felt really natural and I have to give her props because she was really bold to assume that I would play along with a mock wedding.”

Yeah, “bold” is one way of putting it…

But “hearing Courtney tell me she loves me made it all worth it. All in all, it was a great hometown date and a great way to conclude visiting all of the hometowns.”

Come on! Even host Chris Harrison admitted the mock wedding idea was “strange” in his Entertainment Weekly blog.

“Ben gets her and appreciates the way she is.”

I wish he would enlighten us. And will Courtney really be any different in next week’s episode when she is back in the Bachelor house with the other women?

The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
