Usher’s 11-year-old stepson, Kyle Glover, has been declared brain dead by doctors after a horrific ski jet accident Friday morning in Atlanta, Georgia. The 11-year-old boy remains on life support and no plans have been made to take him off of it for now.
Kyle has showed no signs of brain activity since he was admitted to an Atlanta hospital Friday. As soon as Usher heard of the tragedy, he immediately had Tameka flown into be with her son who was airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.
Kyle is Usher’s estranged wife, Tameka Foster’s son that she had with ex-husband, Ryan Glover.
Department of Natural Resources Sergeant Mike Burgamy said Kyle was struck in the head and knocked unconscious by a passing jet ski. He was inner tubing with a teen girl, who also suffered major injuries.
Officials have ruled out alcohol in being a factor in the accident of Usher’s stepson. A thorough investigation is planned to reenact the accident on the lake where it happened. It’s expected to take several months to complete. Specialized computer equipment will be used in the research as well.
As for Usher and Tameka, how are they getting along during this nightmare?
According to a source who spoke with Us Weekly magazine, they both love Kyle and are putting their differences aside for now.
“Tameka and Usher don’t get along, but in this circumstance Usher is coming to her side,” the source said. “Usher practically raised Kyle as his own. He’s known him for seven years. It is so sad what happened.”
