We finally get to the second part of X Factor at the judges house, after a bunch of delays from baseball. There is no excitement of figuring out where each singer landed, just a bit of background information and their performance. Like the first part of the judge’s house show last week, there is no interaction shown between the mentor and the performer.
Rihanna is still with LA in the Hamptons. Simon has gotten some feedback with a record producer and a voice coach in France. Paula and Pharrell are still in Santa Barbara with the groups. Nicole and Enrique Iglesias are in Malibu.
Josh is the only one who really talks to the judges after he sings. Nicole and Enrique think he has great talent, but will his rough around the exterior turn off fans? He’s got the raw talent, but is it enough?
The girl band has to tackle a Queen song? Really? The songs are picked, so I guess they don’t have much choice. They did pretty good with it, but I think a different song would have been better for their voices.
Rachel, the lovely 13 year old, really impressed Simon. He told his producer friends that her deep voice and her willingness to take risks was a huge deal. She went back in to the house and said she did a good job. Might have been a little better, but she was pretty happy with what she did.
It seems like Nicole is moved to tears, no matter who is singing to her. She liked Tiger, the wedding singer. But it seems that all of them impress her. How is she going to cut 6 acts away and get the final 4 by next week?
The group that is composed of a bunch of people who auditioned as solo acts and were combined is up at Paula’s house. Can that many people who are used to doing things their own way practice enough and get it together with their voices? They changed their name to Intensity and contain 10 people aged 12 – 17.
Do they have the X Factor?
Rihanna likes the now sober rapper turned pop music singer named Chris. He seems to have stepped up his game too. Does he have the X Factor in getting the total package to win the money? His performance seemed like he could be the one.
Melanie is the last girl to perform for Simon. Her vocals seemed spot on. How is he going to decide which of the four girls to keep and which ones to let go?
All of the judges start to deliberate with their partners and discuss the pros and cons of each performer, but we aren’t clued in to everyone they see! Come on! They also take in to consideration what they are bringing to the table as far as marketability, talent, ambition and everything else to be a big star. We have to wait until Tuesday to see which four acts make it to the next round in each category.
