The Voice Recap: Top 8 Revealed

Last night on ‘The Voice’ we saw another two contestants eliminated, leaving only eight still in the fight to win the third ‘The Voice’ title. Excited yet?

All the coaches seemed nervous last night, and with good reason as the voting public are known to throw some curve balls n these situations. So which mentors had to wave goodbye to contestants at the end of the night?

The two contestants eliminated from the competition were Sylvia Yacoub and Bryan Keith.

From Team Christina, Sylvia earned praise from all of the coaches last night with her rendition of “Girl on Fire,” with Adam calling it her best performance on the show yet. New Yorker Bryan performed Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind” and coach Adam told him he “did the song justice.” But the public were less impressed with them than the other competitors, it seems.

Those eliminations mean Christina now only has one contestant remaining in the competition, Dez Duron, while Blake and Adam all have two singers left. Cee Lo is the only coach with three performers still in it to win it.

As for the results show performances, Cee Lo’s contestant Cody Belew and Team Blake standout Cassadee Pope got to share the stage with Rascal Flatts, while Adam performed “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” with his team.

It’s not surprising that Bryan and Sylvia were the ones sent home in last night’s episode. All my DISH coworkers thought everyone in the top ten had a lot of talent though, and it was sad to see them get sent home. In the last two weeks I think the right people have been sent home, and I can’t wait to see if America gets it right again next week. Unfortunately I have class on weeknights, so I’ll be catching up on The Voice using Prime Time Anytime on my DISH Hopper. My DVR automatically records all the prime time shows on the four major networks for me. It was sad to see two contestants sent home, but I can’t wait to see the top 8 performances next week!
