‘The Bachelorette’ Finale: Emily Maynard Picks Her Winner

Two months of drama, heartbreak and the most shocking rose ceremonies ever finally came to an end last night. Emily Maynard accepted a proposal from one of the two finalists on Sunday night’s thrilling finale of ‘The Bachelorette.’

So did she choose Jef, the 27-year-old entrepreneur fromSt. George,UT? Or did she instead go for Arie, a 30-year-old race car driver fromDen Bosch,Netherlands?

If you haven’t yet watched Sunday’s ‘The Bachelorette’ finale you might want to do that now before you read on. There are major spoilers ahead.

Emily Maynard picked Jef!

Now, I’ve been waving the flag for Jef for a while – ever since Emily dumped Doug, who was my own personal; favorite for her, and even a little before that, maybe, as it was obvious the two were keen on each other. But Emily still managed to surprise us ‘Bachelorette’ fans with the way she made her choice.

Only about 15 minutes into the second hour of the finale, Emily Maynard made her choice clear after she agreed to let Jef meet her seven-year-old daughter, Ricki. The meeting went so well, Maynard realized her feelings for Jef were on another level than her feelings for Arie.

So, poor Arie didn’t even get a final date. Instead, a tearful Emily told him,

“I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to say. You know how I feel about you, from our very first date. And even beyond that I felt like it was going to be me and you. And I don’t know anymore. I want you to know, I’m sorry.”

Arie was left feeling stupid and naive (led on?).

But even having made Jef her choice, Emily still wasn’t sure she was ready for a proposal. Her thoughts returned to her accepting Brad Womack’s proposal on ‘The Bachelor’ and how that all broke up. Of course, she had to think of her daughter, Ricki, and her feelings if Emily were to get engaged to another guy.

But when Jef showed up with a ring in his pocket, not of that seemed to matter anymore.

Emily admitted her ‘Bachelorette’ journey had been hard at times but said it had all been worth it “because I can stand here and tell you, you really are everything that I’ve looked for for so long. I really feel like you’re my soul mate … I love you so, so much.”

Jef felt the same.

“I found my everything, and I’m so in love with you,” he said, “And I promise you that if you let me into your life and Ricki’s life you will never feel lonely again. I love you so much.”

Awwwww! Jef got down on one knee and Emily accepted his proposal. Then it was so cute how Emily, Jef and Ricki all walked off together. One of the cutest ‘Bachelorette’ finales, ever!
