Desiree Hartsock opened up about her second chance at finding love after she was officially announced Monday night at “The Bachelorette” 2013. She didn’t find true love with Sean Lowe on “The Bachelor,” but she’s about to meet 25 suitors who will be competing for her heart. Filming for the show begins March 17.
Desiree told Chris Harrison at the end of “After the Final Rose” special Monday night how she felt being chosen as “The Bachelorette.”
“I just can’t even believe I’m here. With the support of everyone, it’s just such a blessing,” she said. “I could never have imagined signing up for ‘The Bachelor’ and having this opportunity.”
It’s been since November that filming for “The Bachelor” wrapped, so Desiree has moved on. She’s ready to take another shot at finding the right man for her.
“I do believe [in the show]. I’m ready, I’m open and I’ve seen it happen,” she continued. “I did realize that the feelings are real – the emotions that you go through. It is a real relationship and I’m going to have many of them! I know that it can happen and one of them will be hopefully my true love, as cliché as it sounds.”
Will Desiree be able to manage 25 men on “The Bachelorette”? She answered with a self-assured laugh, “I can handle them, oh yeah. Bring them on!”
As viewers know, Desiree Hartsock was sent home after the hometown dates. Her brother, Nate, made things a bit tense for Sean when he met with the family. He didn’t feel that Sean was the right man for her sister and was in his face about how strongly he felt about that.
At least the men in this season of “The Bachelorette” will know what they’re in for if they make the top two.
“The Bachelorette” 2013 premieres Monday, May 20 on ABC at 8 p.m., ET/PT.
