Several bachelorettes warned Ben during the season that they were seeing a different side to Courtney than the one she presented to him, although he chose to follow his heart and keep her in the reality TV competition.
During this Monday’s (February 27) episode, winemaker Ben talked about the issue with Courtney during a picnic lunch in Switzerland, and then later over dinner.
Courtney showed a side few Bachelor fans will have expected, expressing regret for some of her past actions, saying,
“I’ve been totally immature at times and looking back I could have done things differently. I’m sorry I have maybe said some things I shouldn’t have or spoken too soon because my guard was up.”
So that was her apology. Maybe.
Even Ben said,
“I felt like she deflected any of the blame, and it was starting to really bother me that she didn’t see her role in any of the drama amongst the women.”
But he said his fears were eased over dinner as Courtney admitted that she could have tried harder to get along with the women.
Ben didn’t see it as all one-sided, though, and acknowledged that they were sometimes mean to her, too.
“I have tried this entire journey to be patient and more forgiving. Courtney was worth the patience and I was happy to feel like she turned a big corner,” Ben said.
Ben got a surprise this week when eliminated contestant Kacie returned to ask why she was sent home and also warn Ben about Courtney. She feared he would get his heart broken if he chose Courtney, saying she thought the model was “in it to win it” and had been talking about “other fish in the sea” if Ben didn’t pick her.
But Ben told readers of his blog that he chose to follow his heart and keep Courtney. Ben sent Nicki home at the Rose Ceremony, meaning that Courtney and Lindzi are the final two women on his season.
The Bachelor’s Women Tell All airs next Monday, March 5 on ABC, with the season finale airing Monday, March 12.
