The Amazing Race Season 21 Episode 4 Recap 10/21/12 – Funky Monkey!

On last night’s leg of “The Amazing Race” the teams headed for Bangladesh and things heated up as one team reached breaking point.

First Jaymes and James had to collect dead rats from three locations and hand them over to the Rat Catcher.  In a road block, Josh and Brent had to repair a broken down bus in order to receive the next clue. You know it just had to be fun!

Abbie and Ryan were first to book their flight to Bangladesh but everyone is actually on the same flight so they are all square upon reaching Bangladesh.

At the Road Block, teams had to repair a bus each by filling the body with putty, sanding it, then removing three seats and bringing them to the refurbish area to receive their next clue.

James and Abba took a Fast Forward so they had to become rat catching assistants. I’d have rather fixed up a bus. But perhaps that wasn’t as easy as it looked. James and Jaymes managed to make a mess of it, having to start all over again, as did Gary and Will.

This season’s only all-girl team Natalie and Nadiya, however, did well with the Road Block but Abbie and Ryan were the first team to finish and head to Kawan Bazaar to find a shop and search in a smelly bag of dried fish for their next clue. That led them to a Detour where they had to choose between “Pound The Metal” where they had to make a tool to a Blacksmith’s standards or “Pound The Cotton” where they had to make a cotton mattress.

Gary and Will were last at the Road Block but were soon on their way to the market. Trey and Lexi were just in front of them in a cab, but it broke down!

Natalie and Nadiya thought they were in the lead at the Blacksmith shop but Rob and Kelley soon showed up.

James and Abba attracted a crowd while they were collecting rats but were soon on their way to the Pit Stop. They got there first and won a trip for two to St. James Club on the island of Antigua. Meanwhile, Abbie and Ryan were still struggling with their mattress, while Natalie and Nadiya and Rob and Kelly finished the Detour while James & Jaymes were still at the market looking for their colored fish – or so it appeared from the editing, anyway.

Abbie and Ryan had just finished making their mattress when Josh and Brent had just started to make theirs, with James and Jaymes, and Gary and Will just behind them.

So Abbie and Ryan reached the Pit Stop second, Natalie and Nadiya third and then the two teams battled it out on foot.

Rob and Kelly got there fourth but took the wrong riverboat so they had to go back and re-do the route to Swarighet before they could check in.

Josh and Brent arrived fourth at the Pit Stop, Rob and Kelly fifth, James and Jaymes sixth, Trey and Lexi seventh. Gary and Will really struggled, arriving last at the Pit Stop, and so they were eliminated from the race.

I think that I have finally found a team to root for in the Rockers. They jumped right into the fast forward challenge looking for a way to get ahead, and had a lot of fun with a disgusting task. I love contestants that play hard, but also have a ton of fun, and they certainly did that last night. I missed the show last night because I was working late at DISH, but thankfully my Hopper recorded it for Primetime Anytime. I love how I don’t have to worry about setting timers and I can still keep up with everything on TAR. I was glad that I got to catch it because the challenges are starting to get good and the race is really starting to heat up.
