Taylor Armstrong On Russell’s Suicide

Last night, a tearful Taylor Armstrong appeared on Entertainment Tonight to talk about the suicide of her estranged husband, Russell Armstrong. The interview, with Nancy O’Dell, uncovered details of the day that Russell was found dead after having hanged himself, and how Taylor Armstrong broke the news of her father’s death to their young daughter.

Russell Armstrong hanged himself at a friend’s house on Mulholland Drive. Hs body was found August 15 and Taylor revealed how she was there when the tragic discovery was made. She also put to bed some rumors that we had previously reported, that she was the one to find the body.

Taylor told Entertainment Tonight that she did not see Russell’s body, although she wanted to. She said se asked emergency workers if she could hug Russell one last time before he was take away. But she was denied that.

Despite being estranged from Russell, and him being an alleged wife beater, Taylor Armstrong clearly still feels love for her husband. She had not taken off her wedding ring during their estrangement and following Russell’s death she now wears both her own ring and his together. She wants to get close to him, she said. She even kept one of his shirts and often sits holding it, thinking of Russell and trying to understand how he felt prior to his suicide.

On a more positive note, Taylor Armstrong revealed that Kennedy, the couple’s young daughter, was not in the house when her father’s body was found.  Apparently she was outside in the car, sitting in the lap of Julie (Taylor’s assistant), pretending to drive the parked car.

Taylor said the little girl asked,

“Julie, did my daddy do something dumb?”

That’s a difficult question to answer, isn’t it?
