Taylor Armstrong Hospitalization: Russell Beat Her Over Intervention

The reason Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong was beaten by her husband Russell so badly she required surgery was because she told him she had revealed his abuse to friends and was going to call the cops on him.

Russell Armstrong carried out a sustained attack on Taylor, fracturing her cheekbones and blacking her eyes, after she told him her friends on the hit reality TV show were ready to inform law enforcement and child protective services about his physical abuse of her. It had reached the point where they were even scared for the safety of the Armstrongs’ daughter, Kennedy (now aged 5). However, Taylor Armstrong denied that the little girl ever saw or experienced any abuse.

Russell Armstrong committed suicide by hanging himself in the closet of a friend’s house in Mulholland Drive, Los Angeles on August 15. That was a few months after Taylor filed for divorce.

We can now disclose to you that Taylor made the decision to file for divorce while in the hospital, following the beating where she sustained the injuries we recently showed you photos of. Taylor Armstrong revealed those photographs to Entertainment Tonight.

By the point of this attack, Taylor’s closest friends were so worried for her safety and that of her young daughter that they were threatening to go to the authorities with their concerns. They issued her with an ultimatum: file for divorce or we are telling the authorities about the abuse.

But when Taylor told Russell what her friends planned on doing, he allegedly beat her, and that is what caused her to go to the hospital. Taylor Armstrong filed for divorce: a decision made while still in hospital. The pictures released by Entertainment Online and which we also brought you, were intended to document her injuries.

Russell Armstrong appears to have had a history of being violent towards the women in his life, including his ex-wife, Barbara Fredrickson and then girlfriend, Claudia Haro. After beating Barbara he was convicted of battery in March 1998. He made a no contest plea and placed on three years probation, ordered to perform 50 hours of community service, attend a one year anger management program, attend 50 AA meetings and give a $1,000 donation to the Women’s Clinic in Venice, California.

It looks like he didn’t learn his lesson from that and that his violent tendencies also extended toward at least his older children.
