The celebrity blogger posted an open letter to the music impresario, detailing why he thinks he would be perfect as a judge on The X Factor USA’s second season.

In the video, Perez cited his 4.5 million followers on Twitter, the millions of fans who regularly visit his website and listen to his radio shows. He also points out his keen interest in music as reasons why Cowell should consider him as a judge for the Fox singing competition.

“Most importantly I am a huge music lover and I bring with a lot of experience and expertise in the world of music. I have been a huge champion and early supporter of such artists as Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, Adele and Amy Winehouse.”

Well, at least he has shown he would be interested in the girls’ category!

Hilton said he would just be himself, which is just fabulous anyway. He would keep it real, sharing his honest opinion as “the viewer and the expert.  He said he watched last season and was shocked that the judges seemed to be “feeding the contestants and the audience a bunch of BS.”

Perez Hilton says he would happily screen test for the X Factor judging role. He added that he would give 100% of his salary to charity GLSEN.

“I will do whatever it takes! I’m Perez Hilton and I’m your next X Factor judge.”

Replacements have yet to be announced for departing judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jopnes, so would you like to see Perez Hilton fill one of those roles?

A recent report suggested that Mariah Carey may be a possibility. She was due to join Simon Cowell on the Judges’ Houses stage of the competition.

“Yes, it’s true; I won’t be returning to The X Factor next season,” the reality TV judge revealed in a statement on Tuesday. “I’ve learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions often times override personal considerations.”

It’s not exactly clear whether that is her business decision or Simon Cowell’s, but the two apparently remain on good terms, unlike when Cheryl Cole was fired from American Idol.

Paula’s message confirming  her X Factor exit came after reports emerged earlier on Tuesday that Executive Producer Simon Cowell wanted to get a bigger name than Paula as a judge on the singing competition show.

As we previously told you, host Steve Jones and fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger will not have their contracts renewed after the show’s inaugural season.

Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole also backed up the rumor of her firing on Twitter, writing, “I wanted to let you know directly from me that it’s true I won’t be returning to The X Factor.”

She said she wanted to concentrate on making music again.

Paula stressed that she remained on good terms with her X Factor colleagues after her exit from the show.

“Simon and I, along with Fox and Fremantle, have been communicating about this for a while now, and I have absolute understanding of the situation. Simon is, and will remain a dear friend of mine and I’ve treasured my experience working this past season with my extended family at Fox and Fremantle. I want nothing more than for The X Factor to exceed ALL of their wildest dreams. This truly has been a blessing and I am most grateful.”

The X Factor USA premiered on September 21, 2011 on Fox, but ratings were disappointing. The competition is currently auditioning new acts for the show’s second season, which is set to premiere in the fall.

So who do we want to see as X Factor USA judges now? Should Simon Cowell himself return?

Rumors of an X Factor shake-up are now becoming clearer, and it seems the show bosses want to make sweeping changes in an attempt to win the ratings war.

Steve Jones revealed on his Twitter page last night that he will not be returning to host the second season of The X Factor USA, which has already been commissioned.

Nicole Scherzinger is also now known to have gone, but Fox are yet to confirm that Paula Abdul has also exited stage left.

It is not yet known exactly why Scherzinger left the show but for months she has been saying she wants to concentrate on her music career, rather than become known as a talent show judge. She has been known to be unhappy that the US release date of her album Killer Love has been pushed back on a number of occasions, which Scherzinger said last month was due to her X Factor commitments.

But why is Nicole Scherzinger leaving The X Factor? It is widely speculated that her motives may not be just to concentrate on singing. Lord Andre Lloyd Webber is said to be interested in recruiting her for his new ITV talent show Superstar in the UK.

However, some crazy fans took their disappointment too far, sending death threats to judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. Now Drew has hit back at these supposed fans and told them to stop sending their messages of hate via social media sites or any other means.

Drew says she has no hard feelings against the judges for dumping her and that her fans should not harbor any bad feelings towards them either.

Paula and Nicole both reportedly received a number of death threats via Twitter and Facebook after they voted off the teenage singer last Thursday night.

Some of the threats included, “F— you Paula you dumb c–t you voted off the most talented person on your f—ing show. I hope you die you DUMB B—.”

Others apparently contained more specific threats to kill the female judges.

The judges and Drew were equally shocked to have stirred up such hatred with the  elimination. But Drew has made it clear that this kind of sentiment is not what she want to represent and not what she wants her fans to be associated with either.

“No one deserves death threats,” Drew said.

Why does it take a 14-year-old to show such maturity over a TV singing competition, I wonder…

Paula Abdul had got emotional trying to defend her act The Brewer Boys. The act had apologized that they had not lived up to the expectations of the judges. But Steve Jones didn’t let her finish.

“My producers were screaming, ‘We’re way over, we gotta move on, stop them,’” Steve Jones told The Hollywood Reporter.

He admitted that it was always going to be difficult to fit seventeen acts into just two and a half hours. Of course, judge Simon Cowell didn’t make the task any easier when he added an extra act into what should have been the X Factor Top 16.

Critics had blamed Steve Jones for not making time for Paula Abdul to finish what she was saying. But as the host exlained,

“I don’t want to stop these people arguing. It’s thoroughly entertaining. But we’re on limited time, so I had to stop her occasionally.”

He was just doing his job, he said. But he admitted Paula Abdul looked a little annoyed with him. He was, she said “cool” (as in, OK) with him after the incident on the first X Factor USA live show. Backstage, she said Jones’ actions were “a little awkward.”

The singer and choreographer has denied reports of tension between the pair on her Twitter account on Thursday, in the same way she denied that she and short-lived British judge, Cheryl Cole, were at each others’ throats and that Is why the Promise This singer was fired.

Abdul Tweeted,

“#MakesMeLaugh Why is it so hard for reporters to believe that 2 woman can actually love working together? Couldn’t be further from the truth. @NicoleScherzy & I love working together! Hope you’ve all checked out her interviews & performances… (sic)”

Scherzinger was also keen to play happy Twitter families.

“@PaulaAbdul you are forever my girl, love you!!!” she Tweeted and the love-in continued over the rapid fire social media platform.

Scherzinger is mentoring the over 30s on The X Factor, while Abdul is in charge of the groups. Simon Cowell is guiding the girls and LA Reid is looking after the boys.

On Thursday in The X Factor, the contestants visited the judges’ houses and discovered who would mentor their category.

The X Factor continues on Sunday on Fox.

Speaking at the Pride of Britain awards in London, the Cheryl Cole (28) said she “didn’t do regrets” and she held no ill feeling toward the former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger, who replaced her on the judging panel. Scherzinger had originally been hired to co-host the show with Steve Jones.

Producers were said to have been worried about Cole’s Geordie accent but US critics gave her positive reviews. The LA Times even described her as “fabulous” while the New York Times said she “showed glimmers of being interesting.”

Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell and Dannii Minogue were replaced on the UK version of The X Factor by Kelly Rowland, Gary Barlow and N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos and Tulisa says there are no hard feelings between herself and Cheryl, although the pair hadn’t seen each other in a long while.

Cheryl Cole also seems keen to end rumors that the colness etween herself and fellow X Factor USA judge Paula Abdul is what ended the Geordie singer’s time on the show.

Cheryl Cole tweeted a picture of a huge bouquet of flowers that had been delivered from Paula Abdul, and she Tweeted,

“Oh Wow. I just received the most beautiful flowers from @PaulaAbdul. Thank you sooo much for my gorgeous flowers and kind words. So thoughtful!” (sic.)

Paula Abdul also seems keen to maintain contact with Cheryl Cole, Tweeting in return,

“I’m thrilled you liked them. I’m thinking of you. Would love to say ‘you’re welcome’ to you IN PERSON (hint hint). Love you! xoP”

Do you think they have a genuine friendship?

The Parents Television Council (PTC) condemned The X Factor for showing Godley dropping his pants while performing in front of the judges during its premiere on Wednesday. That show was pre-recorded and so the stripping could have been cut. However, X Factor bosses chose to show it. Was that a bad decision? Why would the show make it look even worse than it was by suggesting nudity?

Even so Paula Abdul was so disgusted by Geo Godley’s stripping that she left the stage while Godley was still singing. Now the PTC has accused The X Factor of violating standards of decency by airing the incident just after 9pm ET.

The group’s president Tim Winter said in a statement: “If Godley performed his act in public, he would have been arrested. But if he performs it in front of a Fox camera, his act is beamed via the public airwaves into every home in the nation.”

Winter also pointed out that the show had broadcast footage of a nude dancer, to show that what he considers a breach of decency laws and standards was deliberate.

“Families were led to believe The X Factor would be family-friendly programming and instead were assaulted by graphic nudity. Perhaps the ‘X’ in X Factor stands for the MPAA rating. No wonder PTC Seal of Approval winner and judge Paula Abdul walked out during the performance, apparently becoming physically ill by what happened,” he continued.

Personally, I thought this was Paula being a drama queen, but I don’t see what stripping has to do with a music talent show either, so like I said at the time, I’m with her, dry heaving in the corridor!

But what do you think? Should The X Factor be penalized for allowing this Geo Godley incident to be shown at the time it did? Why would they furthermore edit the footage to make it look like he wore nothing under his pants?

As always, stop reading now if you don’t want to find out any SPOILERS. I can’t say any of these contestants will win The X Factor USA as that will be up to all of us who bother to vote. But I do know a few people worth keeping an eye out for. So there they are:

Melanie Amaro – This 18-year-old girl-next-door has a belting voice that even Beyonce would be proud of. Audiences and judges alike were stunned and L.A. Reid gave her high praise for her ‘gift’, telling her that she made it worth it for him, for everything he walked away from in order to be on The X Factor. Simon was lovely to her too, telling her that people like her were exactly why he started the show. But I kept my dry eyes until Melanie’s little sister yelled out repeatedly, “You are my role model!” Then, I lost it. Maybe you will too.

Simone Battle – This lady is FIERCE! Battle (21) impressed Simon Cowell with her red satin booty shorts and her sassy attitude. I love the way she described herself as a mixture of cheerleader, hipster and drag queen. Can you imagine that? No? You’re interested now then, aren’t you?Battlesings the Pussycat Dolls’ When I Grow Up. It’s a shame former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger missed this performance, as this was before Cheryl Cole got fired. L.A. Reid didn’t like her, Simon Cowell did. They had a fight. Simon won, I’m glad to say as Simone has something about her.

Marcus Canty (20) showed that the boys have what it takes to do well in X Factor, too. This soul man probably won’t be cutting grass for a living for much longer. L.A. Reid likened him to Bobby Brown in his prime. Simon said he was more like Usher. I’ll take either, thanks! The alpha males managed to agree on one thing that this highly marketable R&B man had the X Factor with his rendition of Stevie Wonder’s I Wish.

Stacy Francis – Anyone who saw the 8-minute promo for The X Factor that Fox showed has already seen quite a lot of Stacey Francis. This 42-year-old single mom has just the kind of back story these reality TV talent shows love. She’d been emotionally abused and missed many chances in her life. But she didn’t miss this one. She put all her feelings into her voice and there was hardly a dry eye. Certainly not mine!

Chris Rene – This recovering drug addict and father of one could turn his life around while on The X Factor, but it’s a big pressure for someone who had only been clean and sober for only seventy days when he auditioned. Still, Rene (28) is not afraid to take risks. He was one of the few people to get through such an audition with their own composition. The testament to his hip-hop talent is that L.A. Reid was truly impressed with this solid number. “I’ve worked with some of the greatest hip-hop artists, and all of my boys would be proud of me telling you that you are the truth,” he raved. Hip-hop’s not really my thing but even I can see this guy’s talent. I am just worried about him. It’s not easy to undergo the stress of such a competition on national TV with just 70 days sobriety behind you.

Cowell intends to blow American Idol out of the water in terms of ratings success but does he stand a chance? Even though I’m a huge American Idol fan, I think he maybe could do it. I’ll tell you why, along with some SPOILERS for tonight’s X Factor premiere.

First, Simon Cowell has put everything in to making X FactorUSAwork. He quit his jobs on theUKversion of The X Factor andBritain’s Got Talent in order to concentrate solely on this new venture. Legendary music executive L.A. Reid left his comfortable number at Island Def Jam to join the team.

Second, Cowell and Paula Abdul will be reunited on screen. They were last seen together when she roasted him in his Aericn Idol sendoff. But we all know they love each other really and should just get it on or get over it. Expect more bickering between the two who have been likened to an old married couple without the sex.

Simon admits that he has met his match in L.A. Reid. He knew they would clash and they do. Oh boy, do they clash!

Cheryl Cole will be seen on the judging panel for the first hour of tonight’s X Factor premiere. She gets a lot of air time in theL.A.segments. There appeared to be no problems with her accent, either.

Of course, there will be drama. And here’s where the real SPOILERS start, so you have been warned.

Look out for Xander Alexander. Inspired by “Whitney Houston before she lost it,” you’ll love this total drama queen. As soon as he gets on stage he starts giving Simon Cowell attitude and then cries. I love how Paula Abdul then accuses him of faking the tears, because hers are all real, of course. Anyway, Xander Alexander doesn’t get any further but his audition is well worth watching.

You will probably have heard that there was a flasher in the X Factor USA auditions. Just in case you were thinking he must have been cut out, he pops up tonight (I know, appalling pun!). Gio Godley gives the audience a full frontal flash while stumbling his way through perhaps the most inappropriate song choice ever: I’m a Stud. I’m with Paula Abdul, dry heaving in the hallway over this one!

So there you have it in a nutshell: the X Factor premiere. Plenty to look forward to tonight.
