Maxwell Drew Johnson was born on May 1, Simpson announced on her website. “We are so grateful for all of the love, support, and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives.”

The pregnancy was announced last Halloween, since when Jessica’s dramatically expanding baby bump has been the subject of much media attention.

So it’s good to hear of the safe arrival of Maxwell Drew today. Congratulations to Jessica and Eric.

On the day we finally have confirmation of Jersey Shore’s Nicole Polizzi’s pregnancy, we can also say for certain that Jessica Simpson is pregnant too.

Jessica has made a fortune from her fashion line, and the model told Elle magazine that she hopes her daughter will also be fashion-conscious.

“I swear, I will croak if she asks me for a pair of Nikes instead of Christian Louboutins!” Jessica (31) said of the baby she’s expecting this spring with fiancé Eric Johnson.

“Eric is so athletic — we’re gonna have this athletic girl and I won’t even be able to take her shopping, ’cause all she’s gonna want is sports bras and Nikes!”

The expectant parents may have to wait a while to see their little girl’s personality emerge, but one thing is for certain: she will not have a traditional name. It is already decided.

But “It’s nothing shocking and nothing you’ll have to add to the dictionary. Still, when people hear it, they’ll know … why,” Jessica promised.

Simpson reveals her daughter made her presence known early on. Just before a road trip, in fact.

“We were going to [go] all-day drinking…” she explains of her and Johnson’s planned drive to Venice Beach, California.

“Ride our bikes, hang out. But I started feeling this overwhelming guilt. Why would I feel guilt at the idea of going out and having cocktails with my friends?”

Simpson took a home pregnancy test and discovered she was pregnant. Spooky, eh?

That would mean that she would give birth early in 2012, so it’s no wonder she postponed her wedding to fiancé Eric Johnson! Her ex, Tony Romo has already moved on and married Candice Crawford and on Monday it was announced that they too are expecting a baby.

With Jessica Simpson, though, the signs of a large baby bump have been there for some time.

“She looks to be 26 weeks, which is around six months,” Boston-based OBGYN Dr. Dave David estimated.

And he confirmed what we all knew already anyway: that Jessica Simpson isn’t just eating too many donuts. Weight gain just doesn’t give you that round a belly!

Havng covered up closely until very recently, the singer has now been seen out and about in New York a few times with her baby bump clearly on show. The skin-tight shirt in this photo leaves little to the imagination. But as Dr. David pointed, she’s only short at 5’3” so that accentuates her baby bump.

Now, it seems it’s too late and no magazines seem interested in what we already know: Jessica Simpson is pregnant and the baby is expected soon!

Reports of the singer and TV personality Jessica Simpson being pregnant have been rife for a few weeks but they came to a head after she was spotted catching a flight at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday (October 7).

Jessica (31) underwent a full body scan while moving through the busy terminal today. But her protective hand over her belly tells more than a thousand words.

Apparently, Jessica Simpson has now begun telling friends and family of her pregnancy. As her pregnancy is still in its early stages she chose to wait to announce the good news to her fans.

Also, Simpson, the ex-wife of singer Nick Lachey, is expected to go public with the news in a magazine exclusive, so of course, she won’t want to blow that deal. But before these LAX airport shots, Simpson was also recently photographed wearing a leopard print cover-up while in Mexico, prompting various media outlets to speculate that she was hiding a baby bump.

A friend has said Jessica is already having strange cravings fornacho chips dipped in chocolate.

Jessica’s baby is reportedly due in the spring so maybe she better hurry with this magazine announcement of her pregnancy, before it gets REALLY obvious?

The pop-star-turned-country-songstress sat down with Oprah to promote her new show The Price of Beauty where she revealed just how difficult it was to battle the media as tabloids trashed her appearance to pieces.

Jess admitted on today’s episode that it’s still difficult for her to talk about her weight issues and that going through media hell was one of the hardest things she’s had to do. “People couldn’t stop talking about my weight for an entire year,” Jess said in a slightly angry tone.

Not only was the 29-year-old struggling to deal with her physical appearance but, recently, she’s also been weathering yet another media storm – caused by her ex-boyfriend John Mayer.

Simpson revealed to Oprah that she was angry at John Mayer for referring to her as “sexual napalm” in the bedroom and revealing to the world how she was between the sheets. Ouch!

But, don’t worry, Jessica wasn’t completely torn up about John’s revelations. “It could have been worse I guess” she says regarding Mayer’s comments. “My phone has been ringing off the hook.” She finishes.

There’s no doubt in our minds that Jessica and Nick will rekindle their romance. The former couple are featured on the cover of many tabloids this week (US Weekly to name one) with captions suggesting a reunion.

We couldn’t be happier to see these two reunite. Just one piece of advice: Don’t put your lives in front of the cameras again – we all know how that turned out the first time.
