The ceremony is said to be planned as an intimate affair, with not even Robbie’s Take That partners in attendance. For some, this is a little suspicious. Will the wedding take place or is it just a publicity stunt? What do you think?

The official version has it that Robbie (36) and 31 year old American actress Ayda Field will marry this weekend on the beautiful island of Santa Catalina, off the California coast. The couple have been an item since 2006. Best man will be actor Jonathon Wilkes, a long time pal of Williams.

However, missing from the celebrations will be Williams’ Take That band mates – Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald. All of them are said to be on vacation right now. So what is it – bad timing, the band’s reunion not as happy as they would like us to think, or are we being duped over a Robbie Williams’ wedding that will break millions of female fans’ hearts?

One thing that does seem genuine is the love that Robbie and Ayda have for each other. The couple are almost inseparable, spending every waking moment – and a good proportion of their nights – together. Few details of the ceremony have emerged and the guest list will be small and select. However, the couple will manage a 2-week holiday before Williams has to be back in the UK to begin promotion of the new Take That single ‘Shame’, due out in October – the first to feature the whole band reunited since their acrimonious split.

Robbie Williams has had his battles with drugs and alcohol in the past so let’s hope he finds peace and happiness with his Swiss Army knife wife Ayda, but can we believe it?

The two certainly make a beautiful couple and isn’t it good to see the nice people bagging some happiness for themselves and exhibiting some good old fashioned romance for a change, instead of courting controversy? The happy event was announced late on Thursday at the Edinburgh Film Festival, where 26 year old Miss Ferrara was then seen to sport a beautiful diamond engagement ring. No wedding date has yet been set. Even her agent was not given advance notice of the announcement so this is as yet pretty privileged information.

But even this information is not as ‘pretty’ as the picture that the happily smiling couple made, making their announcement in Edinburgh, England, today. They proudly showed off the sparkling yet stylishly understated jewel on Ms. Ferrara’s left hand and proclaimed their love, on the red carpet before a screening of The Illusionist in Scotland.

When he made it amply clear that he wasn’t, she said yes. While the shelf life of many celebrity marriages can practically be measured with a stopwatch, I think Valerie and Tom are different; they’re older, they’ve been friends for years, and they’re a bit settled in their lives. So, while Valerie starts work on her new sitcom with Betty White (“Hot in Cleveland”), it looks like Tom will be picking out a cake, and selecting china patterns and invitations.

The pop-star-turned-country-songstress sat down with Oprah to promote her new show The Price of Beauty where she revealed just how difficult it was to battle the media as tabloids trashed her appearance to pieces.

Jess admitted on today’s episode that it’s still difficult for her to talk about her weight issues and that going through media hell was one of the hardest things she’s had to do. “People couldn’t stop talking about my weight for an entire year,” Jess said in a slightly angry tone.

Not only was the 29-year-old struggling to deal with her physical appearance but, recently, she’s also been weathering yet another media storm – caused by her ex-boyfriend John Mayer.

Simpson revealed to Oprah that she was angry at John Mayer for referring to her as “sexual napalm” in the bedroom and revealing to the world how she was between the sheets. Ouch!

But, don’t worry, Jessica wasn’t completely torn up about John’s revelations. “It could have been worse I guess” she says regarding Mayer’s comments. “My phone has been ringing off the hook.” She finishes.

According to British tabloid The Sun, Robert made a full-out confession regarding his more-than-just-friends relationship with his Twilight love interest.

“It is extremely difficult but we are together, yes,” Robert reportedly revealed at the BAFTA Academy Awards. “We can’t arrive at the same time because of the fans. It goes crazy,” Pattinson continued.

“This was supposed to be a public appearance as a couple, but it’s impossible. We are here together and it’s a public event but it’s not easy.”

Robert and Kristen have been dodging rumors of a relationship since the release of Twilight but are they finally ready to face the public hand in hand?

We wonder what Kristen thinks of Robert’s confession. We can’t help but think that the usually-timid star might be a little frustrated being in the center of another media frenzy.

“No one knew why Tristan was there initially because it was not an industry party but everyone quickly realized they weren’t meeting for the first time,” a witness told New York Daily News. “Rihanna lit up when Tristan walked in the room.”

Many think it’s too early for Rihanna to date again but we honestly think that the sooner she moves on, the sooner this whole situation can be behind her. Besides, as long as she doesn’t go back with Chris Brown, she’s taking a step in the right direction.

We hate to say it, but making headlines today are newly reunited couple Nick Lachey and his on again/off-again fame whore girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo. Rumors that the former couple were rekindling their romance have been circulating for the past month (they broke up in June) but no one wanted to believe the news was true.

Unfortunately, Nick confirmed that he and Vanessa are back on this week – much to the dismay of Nick/Jessica fans.

“I am happy in a relationship,” Lachey told Good Day Philadelphia. “I was single for a minute, there, and then we’ve kind of patched things up.”

Well we hope that the un-patch things up ASAP!
