The man suspected of stabbing to death the father of Glee star Charice Pempengco surrendered on Thursday and admitted responsibility for the crime.

Charice Pempengco’s estranged father was murdered with an ice pick in his native Philippines. Now Angel Capili Jr. has turned himself in to the chief of his village in the General Trias township south of Manila, the Philippine capital.

Charice’s estranged father, construction worker Ricky Pempengco (40), was stabbed with an ice pick by a drunken man on Monday after buying cigarettes at a store.

Capili is also a construction worker but apparently he did not know Pempengco.

Teen singer Charice, who plays has canceled her upcoming concerts and called for justice for her father, from whom her mother split when Charice was aged three.

The actress and singer plays a recurring role on Glee as exchange student Sunshine Corazon.

Killer Capila told reporters he planned to surrender because he knew he did wrong.

“I am seeking forgiveness from the family left behind by Mr. Pempengco. … I am prepared to suffer whatever is the judgment,” he said.

But Charice told a news conference she was not prepared to forgive her father’s killer as he did not seem truly sorry. He refused to give a reason for stabbing the victim with a screwdriver. It has been alleged that it was in response to Pempengco assaulting him.

Charice flew back to the Philippines and paid respects to her father early Wednesday. She also apologized for canceling the rest of her tour dates in Singapore but said “family comes first.”
