An original cast member of “Storage Wars” has quit the show. It was learned today that Barry Weiss left the show, which has been the subject of much scandal in recent months for supposedly planting items inside storage lockers the cast bid on. RadarOnline reports exclusively that Weiss won’t be back for season 5.
“Barry secretly taped a farewell recently,” a source close to the show told the site. “They haven’t announced he’s leaving yet but as of right now he is not coming back for season five.”
The report added that the show’s scandals has nothing to do with why Weiss is quitting “Storage Wars.” The insider said Weiss doesn’t pay for the storage lockers, the production company does. Apparently the Weiss is tired of doing the show and wants to travel more.
“He recently filmed a few different clips basically saying, ‘It was fun doing this, but I’m out of here,’” the source shared. “If he changes his mind he can come back. But as of now he hasn’t changed his mind and he will leave before next season.”
Barry Weiss is the second cast member to leave “Storage Wars” after Dave Hester. Hester sued the production company for allegedly rigging items put up for auction. He claims the lockers are typically “salted” and that he was unjustly shut out when he confronted producers about it.
