X Factor’s Simon Cowell has admitted that gives some of his ex-girlfriends a kind of unofficial alimony. As he explains it,
“You can’t have somebody in your life who’s become accustomed to a certain thing, and just because you don’t want to be in the relationship any more say to them, now everything is cut off. That doesn’t make sense.”
Now doesn’t that make Simon Cowell sound like a gentleman and all-round nice guy? The trouble is, several sources have told British newspaper the Daily Mail that Cowell’s motives are not what they appear to be.
“It’s all been about protection really,” one insider said. “There was stuff that Simon would rather stay private; the sort of thing which you would not want your mother to read about.”
So it is not through generosity or the kindness of his heart that Simon Cowell pays off some of his exes such as singer Sinitta or his latest cast off, ex-fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy. He has them sign confidentiality agreements.
“There are things that you find out when you get close to him that he does not want coming out in public. When it’s over, he sends the lawyers in,” said the insider.
But Max Clifford, Cowell’s PR spokesman, puts a different spin on this story. He says the money is to help the woman the standard of living that they become used to when dating Simon.
“They get used to his lifestyle and it takes some money to keep that up. The bottom line is that he can well afford it, and he wants to do it.”
So whose side to you belive? Is it a case of Simon Cowell’s generosity maintaining his ex-girlfriends or is it purely and simply hush money? And what secrets is he trying to keep!
