Scotty McCreery’s Macy Parade 2011 Lip Synch Glitch VIDEO

American Idol winner Scotty McCreery had one less thing to be thankful for this holiday season as his performance at Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade left him playing catch up on his lip synching.

The embarrassing gaffe happened as Scotty (18) missed his cue to start singing his latest single, The Trouble With Girls. The trouble with his performance was that the soundtrack had already begun before the singer began his miming.

Wearing a warm winter coat and red-scarf, Scotty was introduced to the screaming crowd by an announcer who yelled “And here to sing The Trouble with Girls, it’s the bigger than life reigning American Idol champion, ladies and gentleman Scotty McCreery.” But that’s when things started to go wrong.

His voice filled the Manhattan streets while Scotty stood looking stunned. That left Scotty a good couple of seconds behind the music as he mimed the lyrics.

Now, you all know that I love Scotty. I really do. But he had to play a quick game of catch up to try to cover his mistake. And with an estimated 50 million people watching the show on TV, his mistake was obvious to everyone.

All the artists lip-synch for the parade in New York, but Scotty McCreery’s mistake was made all the worse because all the other stars who performed at the event this year, including Cee Lo Green, Mary J. Blige and Avril Lavigne, all performed with no problem at all.

The Macy Parade lip syncing gaffe is a second embarrassing mistake for Scotty on a big occasion. He also allegedly forgot the words to the Star Spangled Banner at the World Series! But I still love him and he’s had a lot less practice at lip synching than those other guys so I’ll forgive him – will you?

Should you be a responsible writer/publisher or whatever you are, take a close look to the other singers, Avril and Cee Lo, and you will notice that they also missed their cue; the BIG DIFFERENCE was that the camera only took a close up on Scotty before the music started as opposed to the other singers. I will bet that the problem was with the feed back (little ear gadget thing they all use). When interviewing someone at different locations there is always a few seconds delay on the feedback and the same happens with this ear gadget. However, commenting on the negative is what sells, not so much being a professional and responsible critic.

They all lipsynced. Avril Lavigne missed her mark also. Give the guy a break. Its Thanksgiving, shouldn’t we just be Thankful!

Please get your facts straight…Scotty did not forget the words to the National Anthem at the WS game #1…his mic did not work..which he kept telling them it was not working prior to going on, but they told him it would work when he started singing. If you watch it again, he sang it flawlessly. He has never lip-synced a song in his life professionally, so I am sure that he is upset and embarrassed about this, but I have seen much worse and in much better conditions, than being outside in the cold, with people screaming at him and maybe he didn’t hear the intro or the timing was off than what was told to him. There could be so many reasons….give him a break. As far as the other performers, they have lip-synced before and they have been performing professionally for years, not less than 6 months for Scotty.

Scotty isn’t used to lip snyching as was evident here. He is a great live performer.

By the way, he didn’t forget one word when he sang the NA, people made a big deal about one word due to his southern accent and he had mic problems to start with and they had to give him a new one…if you watch the video of his NA, the first mic was wireless and the second one had a wire.
