If, like me, you had been wondering what possessed the former Governor of California to suddenly admit to fathering a love child who is now fourteen, you need wonder no more. We finally have the real story.
Arnold Schwarzenegger did not voluntarily admit that he fathered a love child with their housekeeper. He only admitted the truth after his wife, Maria Shriver, confronted the woman herself and the housekeeper admitted that the teenage boy was Schwarzenegger’s son.
It was Maria who asked Mildred Baena (also known as Patty) if her son was Arnie’s. The housekeeper had either had enough after all the years of deception or she spotted a chance to gain something by a confession. Either way, she broke down and admitted the truth to Maria.
After Baena’s confession, Maria the confronted Schwarzenegger and he finally admitted it too. That is really how the love child confessions unfolded with the Schwarzenegger and how Maria and Arnold’s marriage was finally blown apart after years of his infidelities and sexual indiscretions.
Schwarzenegger’s public take on the confession was, “After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago.”
He has a nice way with words, doesn’t he? But that’s not quite how it was.
A source close to the family said, “Maria has suspected this for a long time and she asked the housekeeper. The housekeeper admitted it. Maria then went to Arnold and he confessed.”
So, Schwarzenegger didn’t volunteer the information, and if Maria hadn’t asked, all this may never have come out. But it’s amazing that Mildred didn’t disclose the truth about Arnie’s love child earlier.
The source also wanted to stress that Mildred (a.k.a. Patty) was not fired and that her employment ended without animosity. However, at the time, she was upset with Arnold and thought about going public, but it was a “fleeting thought” according to the source. “Ultimately she didn’t want to hurt Arnold.”
