34-year-old Dunn was famous for pulling crazy stunts in his reality TV shows, but would he really have faked the explosion of his Porsche 911 and disappear without a trace, supposedly dead? Some internet commentators think that is exactly what he did.
The official version of events states that police identified Dunn’s badly burned body from his tattoo and distinctive beard. So, there will be no photos released to the public domain and that has made some people suspicious that Dunn is not really dead (think OBL).
There is some fuel for the conspiracy theories in that the trailer for a forthcoming movie features Dunn as a man who dies, before returning as a ghost to hang out with his friend.
There is no real evidence for the conspiracy theory beyond some bad faked images on Facebook pages. (Sounds just like OBL again doesn’t it?)
Police filed the report as an “auto accident” not a “DUI”. But that could just be because without toxicology results, there is no proof that Dunn was drunk at the time of the crash.
Regardless of whether you believe Dunn’s death is real or faked at this stage, he has obviously left people believing he is an expert prankster. It would be nice to think that, wherever he is and whatever has happened to him, Ryan Dunn would be pretty happy about that.
