Russell Brand and Kristen Wiig Named PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarians

Actors Russell Brand and Kristen Wiig have been named the Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities of 2011 by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). The annual awards are given to celebrities who live as vegetarians and do their bit to publicize eating a meatless diet as a healthy, ethical choice for everyone.

Brand and Wiig are both vocal animal lovers who have spoken often in interviews about their vegetarian lifestyles.

PETA’s official website states that comedians Brand and Wigg have “captured the hearts of many with their comedic charm and compassionate choices.”

Brand has been a vegetarian since age 14. He told PETA,

“You shouldn’t eat animals, it’s mean to them.”

Brand is well known for being outspoken and effusive about his vegetarian lifestyle.

He doesn’t even taken animal products in supplements. During an appearance on “Live! With Regis and Kelly,” Russell Brand (36) was asked by Ripa if he took fish oil to stay sharp.

He replied, “I’m vegetarian. I think it’s cruel to squeeze oil out of a fish… Cause they’re lovely little guys, aren’t they?”

Actress Kristen Wiig says her vegetarian diet is largely responsible for helping her stay fit and healthy.

In an interview with “Women’s Health,” Wiig (37) said she maintains a healthy lifestyle by running, doing yoga and “eating lots of tofu and soy.”

So that’s how it’s done, is it? Maybe if we stop eating meat we can be funny, smart and pull hot partners too? Just a thought!
