The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Russell Armstrong ceased taking his anti-depressant medication around two weeks prior to his suicide. He had been taking the medication to help control his anger issues and they had apparently been helping him.
Russell had been taking the drugs for several months prior to his suicide. However, he suddenly stopped taking them just a couple of weeks before his death. Maybe that partly explains the explosive anger which culminated in an attack on his estranged wife Taylor Armstrong just twenty-four hours before Russell killed himself.
Russell was found hanging in the bedroom of his best friend’s Mulholland Drive mansion last week. His memorial, organized by Taylor Armstrong, is scheduled for Wednesday. There is to be a later funeral and interment organized by Russell’s mother and sister, in Texas.
A source close to the estranged couple spoke of how well Russell had been doing while so well while he was on the anti-depressants, which were specifically prescribed to control his issues with anger. It is the same source that confirmed that Russell stopped taking the meds two weeks before he hanged himself.
Taylor had encouraged her estranged husband to stay on the anti-depressants. She was very supportive of that, according to friends of the former couple. But then “all of a sudden about two weeks ago, Russell stopped taking the meds,” the friend revealed.
Ed Winter, Assistant Coroner for Los Angeles confirmed that there were no medication bottles found at the house where Russell Armstrong committed suicide.
