While the Royal household steadfastly refuse to comment upon the honeymoon destination, the tourism office of the island group had no such scruples. He was happy to confirm that the Royal couple’s flight touched down at the international airport in Mahé at 7:20 a.m. local time on Monday. However, the exact island where they will be staying in undisclosed. They are heading off to an undisclosed (and most likely private) island.
The “Daily Mail” also broke the news of the honeymoon destination to its readers in the UK. They say that William and Kate are staying in a private villa that costs around $6,540 per night. The private island is only accessible via private helicopter, so that should help to keep the paparazzi and other Royal watchers away and give the couple some privacy.
The Seychelles are thought to be a favorite holiday destination of William and Kate. Four years ago they had a romantic getaway on the Seychelles island of Desroches.
Now it looks like the couple have their own private island for two weeks. That is how much leave Prince William has taken from his RAF duties in North Wales. And if I was Prince William I’d be spending the whole two weeks on honeymoon.
We knew their honeymoon destination would be hot. Kate was spotted buying bikinis and sundresses before her wedding. But that’s natural. Who wouldn’t want to escape a rather dreary English spring, even if April was unseasonably warm!
William and Catherine are certainly members of the jet set this year. As well as their honeymoon, they will be Canada and the USA from June 30 until July 10, taking in the sunshine state of California.
But in September 2011, Prince William’s travelling takes on a more serious role. He will be deployed to the Falklands for a 10-week posting. Kate, like every other officer’s wife, will be unable to go with her husband due to the length of the deployment.
