A surprise announcement from Prince William this past weekend stated that after enjoying a private weekend with his new bride in the UK, he would return to work tomorrow (May 3). The rest of their honeymoon, which is to take place at a later date, is expected to take them on an overseas trip. However, no destination has been announced and will not be, to give the newlyweds their best chance of privacy on their honeymoon.
Where do you think the Royal honeymoon will be?
After the weekend of celebrations, Prince William will return to his day job as a helicopter pilot tomorrow. Today (May 3) is the May Day Bank Holiday for most workers in the UK. Although emergency workers such as those doing the same job as Prince William as a search and rescue pilot will be working in shifts, it is thought that the prince has permission to return to work on Tuesday.
The announcement of a delayed honeymoon which would not be ahead of time is probably to throw the press off the scent. Prince William is no fan of being trailed by photographers, whom he still blames for the death of his mother, Princess Diana, in a 1997 car crash in Paris. His office has hinted that they would, if necessary, take legal action to prevent his eventual honeymoon being spoiled by press intrusion.
So, after all eyes were upon the couple on Friday, they will now return to the relative tranquillity of Anglesey, northwest Wales, where the couple live on the RAF base. It is a quiet, rural area, where locals are fiercely protective of the privacy of the royal couple.
It is not known where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as they are now officially titled, went to on Saturday, following their wedding party. Wherever they went, it was via helicopter to avoid being followed. The couple walked to the helicopter hand in hand, saying their goodbyes to royal staff as they went.
As we now expect of them, the couple looked amazing and no-one would have guessed the party went on until 3am. The Prince wore an open-necked white shirt, dark blazer and beige chinos. Catherine wore a belted short blue dress, with a cropped black jacket and black wedge heels.
So, we don’t know what UK location William and Catherine flew too and we don’t know where their eventual honeymoon will be. But that doesn’t stop us having some fun in trying to guess!
My best guesses would either be: a private Caribbean island where they can be assured privacy, or Kenya, where Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton last year. What do you think would be the best Royal honeymoon destination?
