The appearance on Buckingham Palace’s balcony of the Royal newlyweds is always a special moment. Prince William and Princess Catherine, now also known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, made this latest Royal Wedding balcony scene the best ever, with not one but TWO kisses.
The crowd went wild as Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after their wedding service in Westminster Abbey. They were cheered by thousands of well-wishers for the fly-past of modern and historic aircraft.
We had expected that there would be a kiss but what we got would have melted the hardest of hearts for his spontaneous showing of love and romance. The timing of the kiss may have been carefully timed, as reports suggest, but it was truly romantic.
Not to be too blunt about the details, the first kiss appeared totally loving and Catherine seemed confident in declaring her love publicly, even if they must have felt some obligation to kiss in front of the waiting crowds and the billions watching around the world. A few words passed between the new husband and wife and then they briefly locked lips, eyes closed and bright smiles on their faces.
I would have been happy with just that kiss. But a couple of minutes later, the couple drew close again and it appeared to have been Catherine who instigated a second kiss. They looked like any other young couple in love who just had to express that love in a kiss. Prince William’s slight blush as they drew away from each other was just adorable. That’s what makes me think Catherine started this one. Good for her!
