William and Kate slipped quietly out of the country on Monday (May 9), just over a week after their glamorous wedding at Westminster Abbey.
The newlyweds had delayed their honeymoon and had just a long weekend together at an undisclosed UK destination before Prince William returned to work as a Sea King search and rescue pilot. Kate was spotted doing the shopping at a Waitrose supermarket.
Starting the real honeymoon, the couple successfully managed to avoid media coverage of them leaving the country. It is expected that they have now jetted off to a sunshine vacation spot overseas.
The exact honeymoon destination, and how long William and Kate will be away, is unknown. However, a likely place for them to be is the Seychelles, an archipelago of 115 separate islands in the Indian Ocean. Temperatures there range from between 24C to 30C so it’s a good spot for sunbathing and romantic walks along the beach. Here, they could have the relative privacy they want to celebrate the start of their married life together.
The Royal honeymooners are thought likely to have hired a private island in the Seychelles, where they will have the benefit of a top chef and staff devoted exclusively to making their honeymoon every bit as wonderful as it should be.
“After the glitter and excitement of their wedding and all the organisation it involved, they can’t wait to spend some quality time on their own,” a Royal insider has been quoted as saying.
Who can blame them? I’d like to wish Prince William and Princess Catherine a very happy honeymoon!
