Porsha and Kordell Stewart are in the midst of a divorce, according to reports published Tuesday. The former Pittsburgh Steelers player filed divorce docs on March 22 at Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia. Porsha — who stars on the “Real Housewives of Atanta” reality show aired on Bravo — supposedly learned about the news on a website.
Viewers have seen the breakdown of Porsha and Kordell’s marriage on the TV show when they two weren’t seeing eye-to-eye on how to raise their children. Porsha told Kordell that she wanted to continue working after becoming a mother. Kordell wanted her full attention to be on raising their kids.
Kordell indicated in the divorce papers that the marriage is “irretrievably broken.”
The Stewarts have been married since May 21, 2011. They have no children together, but Kordell has a son from a previous relationship, TMZ reported.
Kordell said no assets will be divided between him and the “Real Housewives” star.
“[She's] an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself,” Kordell said.
A rep for Porsha Stewart said she’s “disappointed about her husband’s recent filing for divorce.”
“[Kordell] misled her and she found out about the filing in the media,” the rep continued. “Mrs. Stewart hopes to resolve these personal issues privately with the support of her family, friends and strong faith.”
