When Lindsay Lohan missed her Hawaii to Los Angeles flight yesterday and failed to show up to tape a scheduled appearance, The Ellen DeGeneres Show pulled off quite a coup: Paris Jackson’s first ever solo interview!
How excited are we to watch that interview when it airs Thursday!
Paris Jackson (13), the daughter of the late pop star Michael Jackson, gave her first ever interview alone as a last minute stand-in for Lindsay. Who would you rather see?
After some discussion about her initial acting effort, Ellen asked Paris about Michael Jackson’s infamous habit of disguising his children in masks while they were out in public. She actually seemed grateful for the anonymity as it meant that she could enjoy school without her classmates recognizing her as Michael Jackson’s daughter. That meant she could have a relatively normal childhood, she said.
Paris says she remembered thinking the masks were stupid and questioning having to wear them. But she says that as she gets older she realizes that Jackson only did that to protect her and her brothers. She says he explained that to them at the time.
In another candid moment, Paris shared with Ellen the most memorable thing her late father told her.
“He said, ‘If I die tomorrow, always remember what I told you.’ “I took his advice and I remembered everything he told me.’”
Paris Jackson stepped in as a guest on Ellen when Lindsay Lohan missed her flight from Hawaii. It was the only promotion she was scheduled to do for her new Playboy issue, for which she was reportedly paid $1 million.
The interview with Paris Jackson airs on Thursday’s edition of Ellen.
