Actress, Gwyneth Paltrow reportedly impressed Atlantic record executives so much by her appearance on “Glee” that they awarded her a record deal. That makes her the latest in a long line of cross-over artists to attempt success in both the movie and music industries. Few have made that transition smoothly and even fewer have gone on to great success in their original expertise, but what do you think to Gwyneth Paltrow’s musical abilities? Will she make a success out of a music career?
We earlier reported to you the steamy scenes which feature Paltrow making a guest appearance as Holly Holliday, a substitute sex education teacher on the popular TV series. It now seems that the actress, who previously starred in movies such a “Shakespeare in Love” impressed Atlantic label bosses so much with her appearance in “Glee” and her previous portrayal of a singer in the movie, “Country Strong”, that they have now offered her a $900,000 recording contract.
Gwyneth Paltrow has some idea how the music business works, as she is married to Coldplay rocker, Chris Martin, and the couple have two children together. “Glee” is not Gwyneth’s only previous brush with the music industry, though. Two of her tracks from the 2000 movie, “Duets”, went platinum in Australia.
So are you excited to hear Gwyneth Paltrow is releasing a record? Has seeing her performance in “Glee” made you want to rush out and buy a CD to hear more of the actress turned singer? When and if it’s released, of course!
