New ‘American Idol’ Judge: Will Season 13 See Jennifer Hudson as a Judge?

“American Idol” is doing a total reboot with the judges. Who will be in the on deck next season when new talent enters the scene? Season 12 had lower-than-expected ratings and now Fox will totally do away with Randy Jackson, Keith Urban, Mariah Carey, and Nicki Minaj as judges.

Jennifer Hudson’s name was leaked as someone the show might consider signing on. According to an inside source, Jennifer has already been asked to be a judge, but it’s not a done deal yet. Vulture reports that Jennifer Hudson is extremely close to getting an official contract.

Jennifer was on season 3 of “American Idol” in the final 8. Her presence on the show would come full circle in her successful career. The singer would be a great choice because she has a lot to offer contestants. Jennifer did say in January that “American Idol” should be coming to an end because “everything has it’s time.”

“I’m proud to have come from ‘American Idol,’ so I just say, go out on top,” she said.

Other names on the roster of potential judges for “American Idol” season 13 are Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, and Adam Lambert. A rep for Clarkson already said she wouldn’t be a judge for season 13.

Who would you like to see judge on “American Idol” season 13?
