MTV Warned The Situation For Years About Jersey Shore Drunkenness

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino’s drink problem goes back way before his recent stint in rehab. MTV had apparently warned him for years as his drinking interfered with Jersey Shore filming.

MTV apparently threatened several times to replace The Situation as his excessive drinking caused problems when shooting “Jersey Shore.”

According to sources, producers from MTV and 495 Productions first warned Mike about his drinking during the shooting of Jersey Shore Season 2 in 2010. They told him then that he had to cut down on his drinking because it was getting in the way of filming the show.

Mike apparently promised to get his drinking under control. But he failed. So during Season 3, producers this time threatened to replace him on the show if he didn’t clean up his act.

Again The Situation agreed to curb his drinking and he seems to have tried before shooting began again on season 4. He didn’t drink so much during the season in Italy. But once he was back in the States for season 5, his drinking was once more out of control and he was once more threatened with being fired from Jersey Shore.

Ironically, now Mike Sorrentino is in rehab, 495 Productions have found themselves with the opposite problem. Now he is sobering up, they are looking to phase out Mike and also pregnant Snooki, in the next season, so they are looking for new cast members.

However, MTV is currently denying any plans to replace any cast members. But there again, up until very recently they were denying that there would be another season of Jersey Shore.
