Miley Cyrus has been busy lately. She may have no plans to start up her Twitter account again, but she was eager to get a few things off her chest in an interview with Australia’s “Daily Telegraph” and on Australian radio ahead of her upcoming Oz dates for her “Gypsy Heart” tour.
The “Hannah Montana” star said she has given up social media networking as it would be “hypocritical” to do so when she had been so vocal about criticising the media for intruding on her private life. Several times she has hit out at the press for spreading false rumors about her private life and for the way they treated her last year when she was caught on camera smoking a legal high from a bong.
Cyrus closed her Twitter account in 2009, but began Tweeting again last week from her producer Rock Mafia’s page. She wrote, “When I need to speak out I will tweet from @Rock_Mafia Rock Mafia Forever xMC.” So it seems she is still happy to tell us what she wants us to hear.
And what she wants us to hear is that she dislikes the YouTube singing sensation Rebecca Black for achieving stardom the easy way. Is Ms. Cyrus jealous? She said it should be “harder” to become an artist. She also hit out at Justin Bieber, who you may not remember also got his first toe on the ladder of fame through being spotted on YouTube.
Cyrus says she has more integrity. “I don’t lip-sync. I would rather someone say I sang like crap than have people see me lip-sync.”
Something else in her private life that Miley was happy to hint about was that she may have been reunited with her ex-boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth.
The singer/actress who begins her global Gypsy Heart tour next month talked on the Kyle and Jackie O radio show about her ex, Australian actor Hemsworth from whom she split late last year. She said she loves Aussie men, but “may or may not be single” heading out there on tour. “Liam and I are very close, I’m not going to comment too much, but… I’m definitely not coming to Australia single.”
