Maksim Chmerkovskiy Fired From ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 16

Maksim Chmerkoskiy has reportedly been fired from ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ with producers not intending to ask him back for season 16. The full cast is due to be announced tomorrow but after much speculation it seems pretty certain Maks won’t make the list – for this or any other season.

Speculation about the dance professional’s future on the series arose after he announced that he would not renew his contract when it expires in the fall of 2013, but later said he might leave earlier.

It looks like the show’s producers took that decision out of Maks’ hands and they have not asked Chmerkovskiy back for season 16, according to Access Hollywood.

Chmerkovskiy has not yet directly addressed the rumors, but did indicate in a recent Twitter post that his career would be moving in a new direction.

‘BAM! Someone landed in LA LA LAND! So many peeps to catch up with! So much exciting stuff coming up! #OutWithTheOld,’ he said on Friday (February 22).

The professional dancer has been no stranger to controversy over the last few seasons of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ He’s openly argued with head judge Len Goodman on a number of occasions and over the past couple of years his feud with fellow dancer Derek Hough has been as prominent as his dancing.

ABC will announcing the full ‘Dancing with the Stars’ season 16 cast on Tuesday (February 26) on Good Morning America.

The Bachelor’s Sean Lowe, Olympian Aly Raisman, Wynonna Judd and Kellie Pickler are among the rumored contestants for this season.
