Lisa Whelchel has been to the Philippines before she joined the cast of “Survivor.” Her experience the first time wasn’t too wonderful because she was pregnant and felt sick the whole time. Nothing like being in a foreign country with morning sickness!
“I was two months pregnant, so I was nauseous all the time,” the former TV star said. “I’ve always associated the Philippines with nausea, which isn’t a very good memory.”
“I have been a fan since Season 1, Episode 1,” Whelchel admitted. “Our family throws a ‘Survivor’ finale party every year. I don’t watch a lot of television. It’s the only show that I am intentional about watching.”
Whelchel, now 49, claims she won’t be one of the backstabbing types on “Survivor” this season because it goes against her Christian beliefs. If she can be anything like her “Facts of Life” character, Blair Warner, she won’t be easily pushed around, either. Will Lisa Whelchel make it far on the show abiding by her moral principles?
She pulled a good move when she went on line to purchase a t-shirt reading “June Lake 2010 Triathlon” before filming began to psyche out her other “Survivor” competitors. There’s a little bit of mischief in Lisa Whelchel. She’s watched the game long enough to know some things are plain necessary to win this show.
“Survivor: Philippines” airs tonight at 8 p.m., ET/PT.
