“Great, awesome. Thanks Mommy. Goodnight!” Lindsay Lohan said to Dina Lohan when she told her the good news that she would not face battery charges over her altercation with a staff member at the Betty Ford Center. That is now official.
Dina remains supportive of her troubled daughter, saying, “I have known all along my daughter was innocent.”
But is that what the dropping of the charges really means? There was apparently “insufficient evidence” to prosecute Lindsay (24) over the alleged incident with staffer Dawn Holland in December 12, 2010. But that doesn’t really say she is innocent, does it? Lohan was said to have been challenged by Holland over breaking curfew and drinking alcohol at the Betty Ford clinic. It is reported that she reacted by throwing a telephone at Holland. The claims were investigated by the Palm Desert Police Department.
Yesterday, the D.A. let the Lohans know that no charges would be filed on the battery charge, due to a lack of evidence. However, Lindsay still faces a tough court battle on felony theft charges in connection with a necklace stolen from a Venice Beach jeweller. She us scheduled to appear in court April 22, where a new judge will decide whether there is sufficient evidence for a jury trial to proceed.
Dina Lohan reported that Lindsay is working hard on her sobriety back at home and she is following the Betty Ford Clinic’s out-patient program. She says the staff members are still fully supportive of her daughter
