LeAnn Rimes has categorically denied being drunk on Wednesday night’ “X Factor” finale, and has said that any detrimental effect on her singing was because she was because she was trying to help out a nervous Carly Rose Sonenclar.
There has been a lot of speculation last night and today that LeAnn was intoxicated on the “X Factor” stage. It certainly was not her finest hour.
But LeAnn is adamant that she was in no way impaired, and any awkwardness was because “I was trying to help this 13-year-old girl who was having some trouble with the song.”
According to LeAnn, Carly was very nervous and had difficulty with some of the notes. Well, who had noticed that during the rest of the season? Anyway, LeAnn was apparently just doing her best to help her get through it.
LeAnn’s lawyer, Larry Stein, told TMZ,
“LeAnn was not performing the way she would normally perform, because she was on stage with a young girl.”
Ouch! Yes, she was. An amazingly talented, confident and musically accomplished young girl. Can LeAnn really be that bemused that some people thought she was drunk? Admittedly, I didn’t think she was drunk, but I did think that beside her, Carly looked really, really good.
And it could be a total coincidence that apparently LeAnn made a plate of food backstage and spilled it everywhere. Anyone could do that, without being intoxicated.
So it’s over to you: LeAnn Rimes – drunk or not on the “X Factor” finale? What do you think to her passing the buck to Carly Sonenclar?
