Lamar was yesterday to the Dallas Mavericks, who were last year’s champions. That means they gave up on their bid for Hornets star Chris Paul, who they previously sought with Dwight Howard to complete their Big Three with Kobe Bryant. Now they are just trying to acquire Howard to partner Odom.
Lamar has yet to comment about the move, although we know his wife Khloe Kardashan has said that she is happy to follow him wherever he needs to go for his sporting career.
Someone who has commented on the move, though, is Kobe Bryant. He point blank denied that Lamar’s reality TV work with the Kardashians had anything to do with him being traded away from the Lakers. He pointed out that Odom had his best ever season last season, so clearly he was not distracted.
Bryant is not happy about the trade.
“You’re talking about the Sixth Man of the Year last year … he played lights out. I don’t understand the criticism of reality shows and this, that and the other,” he said.
