Lady Gaga Debuts “Edge of Glory” Video

Lady Gaga today debuts her “Edge of Glory” video. Is it the huge production we are used to from the most recent videos from Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” album? The answer is no, not really.

In this latest video, Lady Gaga tones down the crazy a lot compared to her recent work. The song is an ‘80s-inspired power ballad, and makes extensive use of a fog machine.

The entire video, from singing on a fire escape and sitting on a city stoop to walking down an empty street at night, Gaga pays a fitting tribute to classic 80s music videos.  Also, her time living in NYC’s East Village. (OK, so it’s filmed in a New York City-themed studio lot but you get the idea!)

The E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who recently suffered a stroke but is reported to be making a steady recovery, also appears in the video alongside Lady Gaga, delivering his characteristic smooth sax sounds.

Lady Gaga Tweeted that the music video was directed by the Haus of Gaga and features fashion by Gianni Versace.
