Kristen Stewart made a big impact at the Toronto International Film Festival Thursday night when she let her fans know how much she was happy to see them again. The 22-year-old “Twilight” star is promoting her new flick, “On the Road.” She walked the red carpet and looked stunning in a sheer Zuhair Murad couture gown. After the event she shared her thoughts with reporters about the whole experience of making her first appearance after the cheating scandal with “Snow White and the Huntsman” director, Rupert Sanders.
“Dude, I’m really happy that they’re here for ‘On the Road,’ ” she told MTV about the fans supporting her at Toronto. “I think most of them were fans before I had anything to do with it, which is why they’re here anyways, so it’s awesome.”
According to the Associated Press, Stewart said she was doing “just fine” and was “amazed” at the fan turnout Thursday night.
A number of ecstatic fans cheered, “Kristen, I love you!” as she walked the red carpet. The media wasn’t allowed to ask her about the cheating scandal that betrayed her “Twilight” costar/boyfriend of three years, Robert Pattinson. Prior to the premiere, she was speculated in the press as being anxious about her first public debut since the scandal broke. In all, she handled the entire evening well. There were nervous moments she couldn’t fully hide, but carried on with grace.
While Kristen was at the Toronto Film Festival, Rob Pattinson was at the MTV Music Video Awards in Los Angeles. He joined Taylor Lautner on stage to give a 90-second preview of “Breaking Dawn — Part 2.”
Rob and Kristen will be near each other when they begin promotional tours for the fourth “Twilight” film in November. All eyes will be on how close or distant the estranged couple will be for sure.
