Jenkins was not in attendance on Good Morning America on Tuesday (February 28) because she was en route to entertain troops in Afghanistan. However, she never actually arrived in the Middle East due to “technical problems”.
In a statement, Katherine Jenkins said,
“I would have loved to have been at the announcement but as a supporter of military men and women around the world, it was very important to me that I keep my word and be in Afghanistan to entertain the troops.”
But there were apparently technical problems with the plane, which prevented her getting there.
“But this will not stop me from going again in the future!” she stressed.
Jenkins later Tweeted her disappointment at missing both major events, but added that she cannot wait to begin training for Dancing with the Stars with her professional dance partner, Mark Ballas.
The singer also rallied her fans for votes, writing, “Hope I can call on you for your support… Think I’m gonna need it!”
She will be competing with the likes of Melissa Gilbert, Sherri Shepherd, Gavin DeGraw and Jack Wagner.
Dancing with the Stars returns on Monday, March 19 on ABC.
