After weeks of speculation, an official statement from Buckingham Palace announced the news of the Duchess of Cambridge’s pregnancy this afternoon.
It said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby.”
A spokesperson said: “The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and members of both families are delighted with the news.”
But things have been tough so far, hence waiting for a while to break thenews publicly. St James’s Palace said in a statement that Kate had been admitted to a private hospital for treatment for a severe form of morning sickness known as hyperemesis gravidarum.
St James’s Palace said in the statement: “The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in central London with hyperemesis gravidarum.
“As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.”
Apparently Kate is 12 weeks pregnant.
Speculation has been rife for a while that Prince William and Kate Middleton were expecting a baby as she has been spotted holding her stomach and positioning bags over her “bump” for weeks now.
As I predicted a few weeks ago, the news of Kate’s pregnancy was released just in time for the holiday season.
