The Duchess of Cambridge is predicted to wear up to 30 different outfits when she visits 13 towns and cities on the tour. She is not anticipated to wear any clothes that she has “recycled” in the past since photos have shown her in everything she has worn. All of the new clothes that the Duchess will wear includes days of relaxation and ones in which she’s spending quality time with her son, Prince George.
Kate Middleton won’t wear a tiara on this tour. She and Prince William will attend some evening receptions with governor-generals of both Australia and New Zealand, but will wear some stunning jewelry from the queen’s royal collection. One of the pieces she might wear for her daily activities is the Queen’s diamond Maple Leaf brooch worn during her tour in Canada in 2011. Palace sources reveal Kate will consider other pieces that symbolize local communities will be worn with dresses also making a similar statement.
The Duchess’ private secretary – Rebecca Deacon — said, “I’m sure she’ll be looking at all the options. I don’t know what she is wearing but I’m sure she will take it into account.”
People magazine was told by British fashion commentator — Hilary Alexander — that Kate will probably wear fashions by her favorite designers.
“I think the basis of her wardrobe is going to be her favorites like Jenny Packham , [Alexander] McQueen, and Emilia Wickstead. Based on what she did in Singapore when she wore Prabal Gurung and in Canada when she wore Erdem — she might well dip into a few Australian and New Zealand designers.”
Alexander mentioned some designers in New Zealand Kate very well could collaborate with.
“Karen Walker, who dresses people like Liv Tyler, Claire Danes and Madonna … [and] Trelise Cooper, although her designs are perhaps a little flamboyant. There is a designer in Auckland called Adrienne Winkelmann who is great.”
As for the Australian designers, Alexander feels that the Duchess “may revisit Collette Dinnigan … there’s also designers like Sass and Bide. She might get a nice top or tunic from them to wear with her jeans if there is a more casual event. Then there’s Carla Zampatti who does quite classic but dramatic evening wear.”
When Prince William and Kate Middleton visit both countries, interest in the royal couple will be around Prince George and Kate’s wardrobe. Sounds like she’ll be wearing some elegant numbers as well as some dazzling jewels.
