Kate Middleton might be the darling of the British Royal Family as far as most of Britain and the rest of the world are concerned, but it seems that some of the royals are less happy with her popular position. They are taking cheap shots to put bumps in the so far smooth road of Kate’s transition into royalty.
It seems that all those rumors are true that the only blood princesses of their generation, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are feeling a little left out in the popularity stakes.
Prince Andrew’s daughters have apparently taken delight in hitting Kate where it hurts: her jealousy of Prince William’s ex-girlfriend. And it seems they have dragged his brother into the scheme.
Princess Harry is said to be dating another blonde beauty. Now, in itself, that’s not news. But add to that the fact that she is Cressida Bonas, the half-sister to Isabella Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe, the girl with whom Prince William was infatuated and for whom even broke up with Kate. Then throw into the mix the fact that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie allegedly played matchmaker, and you’re probably seeing something a little more unsettling for poor Kate.
Palace insiders see this as the latest shot fired in the battle between Eugenie (22) and Beatrice (24) and the Middletons.
“No woman makes Kate as insecure as Isabella Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe,” a palace insider tells “In Touch” magazine about Cressida’s half-sister, for whom William left Kate for five years ago. Eugenie knew it would get under Kate’s skin.”
Just imagine if the relationship with Prince Harry got serious and Kate had to mix with her love rival at family gatherings.
But why would Eugenie put Kate in such an uncomfortable position? The source says there has been a battle royal (if you’ll excuse the pun) brewing for some time and it’s not entirely one-sided.
“Prior to the royal wedding, Kate invited Beatrice to a party, but forgot to mention it was costume,” says the source. “Poor Beatrice was so embarrassed, she ended up in tears in the bathroom.”
“Although Kate will have to socialize with the Yorks at royal events, they’ll never be good friends.”
Did you see the photos of the royal family watching Zara Phillips ride during her Olympic dressage competition? Kate and the princesses were at opposite ends of the line and when Kate passed them she gave them both kisses on the cheeks. So formal! And not a bit of musical chairs going on to sit and chat and catch up with each other.
Could it be true that the princesses are plotting to make Kate Middleton as uncomfortable as possible?
