Kate Gosselin Being Sued for Unpaid Marriage Counseling

Reality TV mom Kate Gosselin of “Kate Plus 8” is being sued. The lawsuit is being issued for her alleged failure to pay over $10,000 in marriage counseling fees.

A complaint for a total of $10,476 has been filed with Freeland District Court in Pennsylvania in front of Judge Gerald Feissner. The lawsuit was brought on March 28, 2011, by Creative Energy Options, a company based in White Haven, who allege an “unpaid balance  due for services 2/4/09 to 3/23/09”

Apparently, Kate Gosselin asked Dr. Sylvia Lafair to fly to her then home in Los Angeles, California, to perform marriage counselling.  Immediately afterwards, she refused to pay for Dr. Lafair’s travel fees. It is not clear, but presumably the doctor travelled to Los Angeles, performed the counselling and was not reimbursed for the expenses as expected by Kate Gosselin.

Dr. Lafair herself confirmed that the lawsuit had been filed, but she would not comment on any specifics regarding the counseling which was given to Kate. The company provides various services such as a Country Place Retreat and Conference Center in White Haven, which perhaps doesn’t sound much like marriage counselling – but who knows.

Kate and Jon Gosselin’s ten-year marriage disintegrated on the “Jon and Kate Plus 8” reality TV show prior to the couple’s divorce in December 2009.  Maybe since the counselling failed and Kate and Jon Gosselin split, Kate decided it wasn’t worth the fee?

Doesn’t mean you don’t have to pay for the services, Kate!
