It’s one of of those headlines that will probably never die when it comes to Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, and he sister, Pippa Middleton. Rumors that the two sisters are in a heated battle of sibling rivalry are making the rounds again. This time it’s all about Kate supposedly telling Pippa to “behave well” during public events and Pippa is jealous of her now royal sister.
It’s even reported that their mother, Carole Middleton, is concerned about the so-called “quiet war” brewing between her two daughters. She fears a rift is growing more between them as one daughter has married into British royalty and the other wants to remain the woman she’s always been — carefree and not worrying about what everyone thinks. Now that Kate Middleton is a high standing royal, how her immediate family conducts themselves is almost as important. Pippa Middleton didn’t sign onto the restrictive, public figure role that her older sister did.
Is there really jealousy going on between Kate and Pippa? Most brothers and sisters at some point have their own form of sibling rivalry, but is this as bad as it’s made out to be? It’s understandable that Kate probably took Pippa aside and asked her to avoid any situation like the Paris gun scandal again. That was an extreme case of social ignorance on the world stage, but she wasn’t the one who aimed a gun at the cameras. Since the incident Pippa hasn’t been spotted with any male suitors. She hired a PR rep who likely told her to lose the playful image of hanging with rich aristocrats for a while until the gun scandal wears off. No one knows for sure, but her wild ways have definitely been toned down a bit since Kate Middleton married Prince William.
